Dr Newton Fahl is director of the Fahl Center in Curitiba, Brazil. He conducts hands-on and courses on direct and indirect adhesive restorations and has been doing so since 1998. As a cosmetic dentist, Dr Fahl believes that because composites are made from plastic materials, there is a common misconception that the composite restorations may not last as long, be as aesthetic or be as durable.
Dr Newton believes that composites are misunderstood. If one was to truly understand what they are and how to implement them effectively, they can be just as long lasting (if not more) than porcelain alternatives.
